Index to Our Trip to Ecuador

We had read that Ecuador, especially Cuenca, was an ideal place to retire. It's climate was ideal, the water was safe to drink, it had good, inexpensive medical services, and the cost of living was low. What we read on the Internet, especially the stuff from International Living, sounded too good to be true. So, we decided to travel to Ecuador for a month to find out what it was really like. We booked our flights, made some reservations at inexpensive hostels, and headed South. While we were in Ecuador, I kept our friends and relatives informed about our experiences with a blog. Now that the trip is over and we're back at home, I decided to convert the information from a blog format (most recent info first) into a chronological series of web pages that covered the trip from start to finish. Hopefully this serves as a more coherent description of our trip.
