Using a POP3 Mailer to read your Gmail account

Follow these steps to configure your Gmail account

  1. Use your web browser to log into your Gmail account.

  2. Click on Settings to access the setting screen.

  3. On the Settings screen click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

  4. On the Forwarding and POP/IMAP screen select the options as shown below.
    This will leave a copy of your messages in the Trash when you retrieve them
    from your Inbox with your POP3 mailer.

  5. Be sure to click on at the bottom of the screen!

Now configure your POP3 email program.

Once you've enabled POP in Gmail, you can configure your mail client or wireless device to download Gmail messages. To see Gmail's recommended settings or troubleshoot POP issues, click the name of your mail client or wireless device below.

If your mail client isn't listed here, Gmail is not yet able to provide assistance with its configuration.
